This fine film is necessary viewing for anyone that is sort of entertained by this thing we often call AfroSquad. It's about a guy name Goldie who goes from drug pusher, to prison, and finally to the flyest pimp to ever wear a fur coat and carry a cane. If you have no idea what pimping actually is, we guarantee this film will teach you through it's inspiring dialogue (which we have generously included in WAV format for those of you opposed to renting fine films). This is the closest thing we've found to a documentary on pimping. Feel free to spread the word with an official SHOUT OUT TO THE MACK button. We heard that old Quentin Tarantino is working on a remake of this movie.....word.

The Players

Goldie is the star of this film. After five years in jail for small-time drug pushing, he gets out with the tremendous aspiration to be the richest most successful pimp ever. Through hard work and determination, Goldie accomplishes his goal and even wins the coveted Player of The Year award at the eighth annual Player's Ball. He encourages all the local kids to stay in school, too.
Like any successful pimp, Goldie loves his mother and takes care of her by buying her a nice house with his pandering profits.
Goldie's brother goes by the name of Olinga. This cat's into the civil rights movement and works hard to drive the pimps and pushers out of the neighborhood. You may recognize this cat as TC from the critically acclaimed television show, Magnum P.I.
Slim is Goldie's right hand man. That's just about as developed as this character played by Richard Pryor gets. He does, however, do something really wicked with an accordian that's enough to make him one of our favorite side-kicks ever.
Fatty is the local drug lord. Goldie worked for him prior to his prison time. Fatty wants Goldie to come back and work for him, but Goldie would rather be a pimp. Heck, given the choice between running the lives of ten really hot prostitues and peddling junk to loser crack-heads, we'd choose the babes too.
These are the two necessary-for-this-type-of-film cops, and they are dumb-asses. Don't get us wrong, not all cops are dumb-asses. But after you see this film, we're pretty sure you're gonna think these particular cops are dumb-asses.

There's a whole brigade of really cool pimps in this film and they're all the best of friends most of the time. They even go on a Player's Picnic together.
