Here’s some Royal Wedding swag – for purchase!
Royal Couple Condoms:
Now there’s a way to commemorate the royal wedding and keep your crownjewels safe at the same time. British manufacturer Crown Jewels Condoms of Distinction launched their royal wedding collector’s edition condoms to celebrate the April 29 marriage of Kate Middleton and Prince William. Along with the special condoms, the box comes with a pastel souvenir portrait of what the couple might look like on their wedding day.
“Combining the strength of a prince with the yielding sensitivity of a princess-to-be, Crown Jewels Condoms of Distinction promises a royal union of pleasure and style,” the release said.
Royal Wedding Fridge:
Looking for a new fridge? Your search is over as we’ve found the most perfect fridge ever manufactured by man. Behold, the Royal Wedding Fridge and freezer, which is sold by GDHA, a U.K. distributor of GE appliances, features the more casual of the two official engagement pictures taken by photographer Mario Testino. The refrigerator is 5′9″, which means you’d almost be looking at life-size versions of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Yes. Nothing says “coldâ€ and “sterileâ€ like Will and Kate’s unyielding love for each other.
Royal Wedding Beer:
Nottingham’s Castle Rock Brewery originally planned to issue a limited stock of its royal wedding inspired Kiss Me Kate real ale. But worldwide press interest spurred soaring demand and supermarket chain Morrisons has ordered 70,000 bottles. We’ll drink to that!
Royal Couple Teabags:
It’s supposed to be us Brits who are the great tea drinkers, but a German company has really cornered the market with these Kate and Wills tea bags which hang on to the rim of your cuppa. The bags, affectionately named ‘KaTea’, contain German-grown black tea and are available as a pair within a greeting card.
Royal Couple Toilet Seat:
Let’s discuss the many ways in which this is a bad idea. While the word “throneâ€ is often used as a term for toilets, there is something distinctly unroyal about them. It’s probably that you sh*t in them. That’s probably the unroyal thing about them — the sh*t. So, that’s issue #1.
Now, issue #2. Is it that hard to draw Prince William and Kate Middleton? Why does the artistic likeness of them look anything like them? What is that? Just trace a magazine cover, for God’s sake.
Royal Wedding Lego Recreation:
While we’ve been busy wondering what the royal wedding will look like down to the last detail, the fine folks at Legoland built the entire thing — from Buckingham Palace to Kate Middleton’s gown (and gloves) to guests including pregnant Victoria Beckham, Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney. The exhibition opened at Legoland’s Windsor outpost on April 1.

LOS ANGELES—Dodgers players told reporters Friday they have been playing harder than usual the last few weeks in hopes of reuniting their parents—Frank and Jamie McCourt. “Maybe if we keep hitting homeruns, it’ll make them realize how much they miss us and love us and then they’ll come back,” said outfielder Andre Ethier, who credited his 23-game hit streak and .379 batting average to “missing Mom and Dad real bad.” “We’re all going to try extra hard tonight because we forged apology letters to and from our parents and told them to meet at the game. Casey [Blake] reserved their tickets. Gosh, I hope this works.” Several players confessed they want the McCourts to take notice of their winning ways sooner rather than later, as none of them liked the creepy adoptive father who keeps telling them to just call him “Bud.”

Lil Wayne with Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Travis Barker and Mix Master Mike, and Porcelain Black performed Friday night at the Saddledome.
The more charitable among us might look at the jam-packed and eclectic lineup artists Lil Wayne assembled for his I Am Still Music Tour and consider it a generous gift from the superstar. It might be looked at as his desire to give his audience more bang for its buck, the opportunity to expand their horizons, as well as showcasing some of the more notable of his Young Money stable.
Or, the more practical, might instead see it as the opportunity to buy some time while the majority of his audience was able to navigate through a security check that in its sheer obtrusiveness and thoroughness would have put most airport screeners to shame.
Whatever the case, by the time the N’Awlins native finally took the stage for his own healthy set of dynamic hip-hop, the evening had already run the gamut from the great to the grating to the glaringly mediocre.
And, again, intentions aside, that speaks to the 28-year-old’s crossover appeal -note his work with even power pop veterans Weezer -and the artists who want a piece of his lucrative name and audience.
Look to the evening’s opener, his latest protege Porcelain Black, a ridiculous “rock” starlet, who makes Avril Lavigne look like Lemmy.
Offering the most fundamental and grade-school approximation of what being rock ‘n’ roll really is -”I should, like, talk about drinking and, like, partying and swear a lot, right?” -the young singer crawled around the stage on all fours like the 101 Dalmatians in heat and shrieked her inanities over Romper Room “metal” that would give ABBA cavities. It was as funny as it was tragic.
On the other end of the spectrum was the spectacular drum ‘n’ DJ duo of Travis Barker and Mix Master Mike. Encased in a giant boom box, the pair picked things up with a set that was fierce and entertaining, with the Mix Master scratching over samples by artists such as his most famous collaborators, the Beastie Boys, while Barker hammered away at his kit with a ferocity that he rarely mustered with former band Blink 182.
The final act of the opening slate was rapper Rick Ross, and his set fell somewhere between the others. It was a by-the-book, straight up hip-hop show, that was neither remarkable nor particularly negateable. Ross’s gruff growl is distinctive enough, and he has a solid stage presence, but very little of his material rose above the laundry list of cars, money and the only reason to acquire those – the ladies.
Or, rather, any pejorative term for a female of the species you’d prefer to replace it with.
If you need any help with that, perhaps you could refer to the evening’s headliner, whose extensive catalogue of hits is the Wiki of misogyny, but not something that seems to deter his fans — many of which, Friday night were of the decidedly young and female variety.
Fair enough, there’s little difference between that and, say, Motley Crue’s oeuvre, but there’s something a little more confrontational about it, especially when a song such as I’m Single, is preceded by Lil Wayne’s reference to his recent stay in the American correctional system and what that has done to his sexual appetite.
But, to focus on aspect of Lil Wayne and his music is entirely unfair to the show, itself, which was a high-octane, immaculately paced mix of visual spectacle and musical energy.
Backed by a pretty stellar live band and a multiscreen set, Weezy delivers from the second he takes the stage to the moment he steps off. In fact, his verbal style seems more suited to that arena than on record, with tracks such as Bill Gates, Girl You Know and Right Above It (sadly minus Canadian Young Money signing Drake) given a whole dose of added lyrical maliciousness.
More importantly, he has an exhausting and entertaining understanding of showmanship — his show was one of the longest these parts has seen in ages — and he oozees charisma with ease. And there’s certainly no doubt he knows how to work a room, announcing early on the three most important things about him: 1.) He believes in God; 2.) He ain’t nothin’ without his audience; and 3.) He ain’t nothin’ without his audience.
And, like him, there are very few from that roster of artists on his label who would be anything without his backing, as throughout his lengthy set he gave various stars from Young Money their moment in the many bright spotlights, including the label’s brightest star currently, Nicki Minaj.
The blond-wigged rapper had a healthy showcase in the middle of the evening, and offered her own aggressively estrogenated take on the hip-hop form. She, too, can hold a room and proved that rather than being the spice in male artist’s music, she has a place on the tour that falls on the more exceptional side of the scale.
(Please note: This article was corrected to change the fact that Rick Ross is not signed with Young Money Entertainment.)

AFL boss Andrew Demetriou says players will get their “fair share” of money from the $1.25 billion TV rights deal.
“I think history shows we always look after our players,” Mr Demetriou said today.
“They’ll get their fair share. What that fair share is I don’t know.
“I’ve got no doubt that when the ink is dry on the players’ agreement they’ll walk away happy too as will we.”
Mr Demetriou said he and fellow executives didn’t feel they deserved a pay rise after the negotiation.
“I haven’t been in one conversation with anyone who I work with who has said, ‘Gosh if we get this deal that means we earn more money’. It’s never been on our radar.”
Mr Demetriou said the league had ideas about helping struggling clubs and also hoped to use the money to strengthen international, multicultural and women’s programs.

The landmark TV rights deal would also keep the game affordable for fans, Mr Demetriou told ABC radio today.
He said Foxtel had no intention of increasing subscription prices in the wake of the deal, which will see every game shown live from next year.
“Everyone is assuming that, you know, Foxtel are going to put their prices up because we’ve got this new suite of games. I don’t think that is it at all,’’ Mr Demetriou told the ABC.
“What they are relying on is getting more subscribers, not jacking up prices by $1 or $5. That’s not where their real value lies.”
Goodes calls for share of AFL’s TV rights booty
The AFL chief’s comments come as the league and AFL Players’ Association are preparing to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement.
Sydney champion Adam Goodes said players had to be rewarded for the work they had done in making the game worth $1.253 billion to the TV networks.
The reaction of Goodes, one of the most-decorated footballers in the AFL to the billion-dollar TV rights deal, sums up the mood in the playing ranks.
The AFL may have had a significant win yesterday, but it faces a bigger battle in the coming weeks with an increasingly aggressive AFL Players’ Association over the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Goodes said the players needed to be rewarded for the work they had done in making the game worth $1.253 billion to the television networks.
“This is something we’re really big on, and we deserve our piece of the pie,” he said.
Today, Bulldogs champion Doug Hawkins said the deal was a win for fans and the game.
“I think it’s sensational, I think it’s great,” he said.
“It’s about time they went live, so it’s great that they are doing that and I look forward to hearing (Channel 7 commentators) Bruce (McAvaney) and Dennis (Cometti) again, because I love them,” Hawkins said.
”I wouldn’t be surprised if Channel Seven sell a few to Channel Nine and not Channel Ten, but then again Channel Nine have been a rival with Seven for years so you never know.
”They are trying to promote our great game into Gold Coast and Brisbane and Sydney, so it has to be shown live to compete with NRL. ”
Former Geelong president Frank Costa said this morning the deal was a great result for the game and the public.
”I think getting the figure the AFL got is a real tribute to them and the time they have taken to negotiate this deal and it gives them the money to invest in Greater Western Sydney and Gold Coast and make them competitive and make it a real national game,” Mr Costa said.
“It’s a big plus for football.”
While Collingwood cheer squad leader Jeff “Joffa” Corfe said he thought there was something for everyone under the agreement.
“What we would like to think is that the fans have spoken and that’s how live AFL games on a Friday night have come about,” he said.
”On any given weekend, some supporters will miss out (on seeing their team on free-to-air) and some are in for a treat but that’s the age we live in now.’’
Goodes said last night: “We feel like we’ve done the work over the last five years to get that TV rights deal for the AFL.
“If you’re at the end of your career like I am, or one of those players who is three or four years in, you really want to see some of the benefits for the hard work.
“Hopefully now with the deal being done we can hit home with some of the biggest things we want. The AFL does a fantastic job, but we’re just asking for what we think we deserve.”
The AFLPA is seeking a fixed 27 per cent of all future revenues, which would get the players a $50 million pay rise a year from 2012.
Payments to the AFL’s 750 players reached $170 million last year, about 21 per cent of the game’s gross takings.
But locking in a percentage of revenue is already a major sticking point in the talks, which began in December, with AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou again reiterating that point yesterday.
“Our view has been consistent all along,” he said. “We don’t talk in percentages.”
Revenue-sharing agreement will be “sensible”
AFLPA chief executive Matt Finnis warned the players were very aware of the role they played in the growth of the game.
“We have a view that a percentage and revenue-sharing arrangement is a sensible way to go forward,” he said.
“It is used in other sports around the world that have a salary cap like we do. I think it is important to preserve the interests of the players over a duration of an agreement.”
Finnis was confident negotiations would reach an appropriate settlement by the June 30 deadline.
“What the players seek is a professional and business-like relationship, and that means if it takes time to come to the right outcome, then we take that time,” he said.
“We go into it in good faith. That’s not to say negotiations won’t be wary at times, but we have an expectation of a successful outcome.”

Do you enjoy some good old fashioned misogyny in your rap songs? Well, there’s anti-woman smack talk aplenty in Eminem and Royce’s new joint track “Fast Lane”. Off their upcoming EP, the track features Em talks about a variety of sexual acts, including doing some naughty things to his “Roman’s Revenge” buddy Nicki Minaj’s very prominent assets. Listen below.
There’s lots going on in this quick-paced jam, but we’re too focused on Em giving a slightly disturbing shout-out to Nicki Minaj: “I hope I don’t sound too heinous when I say this, but Nicki Minaj, but I want to stick my penis in your (CENSORED).”
Charming. Almost as lovely as this bon mot: “If you don’t suck my dick you’re gonna get decapitated / Otherwise if you don’t give me head, I’m gonna have to take it.”
Are we being too sensitive here, or do you also get queasy hearing statements like these made so flippantly? Check out all the song’s lyrics over here.
Bad Meets Evil drops June 14.

LONDON – Kate Middleton will not promise to “obey” her husband Prince William.
Kate will be following in the footsteps of his mother in departing from the ancient church formulations of the wedding service.
Unlike earlier generations, few brides today would use the term, and the word does not appear in the wedding service chosen for Friday. Princess Diana, 30 years ago, also did not promise to obey, and in her case that turned out to be true.
Rumors that Kate wants an “open marriage” with William are also circulating around London.
Details about the service and the music chosen for the occasion were released on Thursday morning, together with a special wedding programme – customary at royal weddings – which will be sold for charity to the crowds in central London in the morning.
Dr Rowan Williams, the archbishop of Canterbury, who is conducting the service, will ask Middleton of her husband whether she will “love him, comfort him, honour and keep him in sickness and in health and, forsaking all others, keep only unto him so long as ye both shall live”.
This morning, as musicians prepared for their final run-throughs in Westminster Abbey – which has been closed to the public since Monday – one more rehearsal for the service was held for the bridal couple and other participants. There will be technical rehearsals on Thursday too for broadcasters.
The marriage music features works by two living British composers: Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, the master of the Queen’s music, and the Welsh composer Paul Mealor, who lives on Anglesey.
Other works by major British 20th-century composers will also include Vaughan Williams’s Fantasia on Greensleeves and Prelude on Rhosymedre, Elgar’s Serenade for Strings and Britten’s Galliard from his opera Gloriana, together with Delius’s On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring and Finzi’s Romance for String Orchestra.
There will also be the famous old hymns Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer – a gesture perhaps to William’s Welsh links – and Charles Wesley’s Love Divine All Loves Excelling, as well as William Blake’s Jerusalem, a song occasionally banned by some Anglican clergy as being insufficiently religious.
Mealor, who is 35, said: “I was thrilled to hear that Prince William had chosen my music for his wedding. How humbling it is for me to know that Prince William and Catherine will celebrate the beginning of their lives together with my music. The ceremony is going to be, without a doubt, the most emotionally intense and exhilarating hour of my life.”
A new trumpet fanfare has also been composed for the start of the couple’s procession at the end of the service. Called Valiant and Brave – the motto of 22 Squadron, with whom William is currently serving as a search and rescue helicopter pilot – the 30-second piece has been composed by Duncan Stubbs, the RAF’s director of music services.
He said: “Basically, I have taken examples of fanfares that we know and recognise and just added my own thoughts and ideas to that.”
In a message in the official wedding programme, the couple say they have been “incredibly moved” by people’s affection towards them. They add: “We are both so delighted that you are able to join us in celebrating what we hope will be one of the happiest days of our lives … We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone most sincerely for their kindness.”
The Goring hotel near Buckingham Palace, where the Middletons will be spending the night, has been sealed off by police in preparation for their arrival.
